Booking a trip
Request a quote
We only work with individual trips. This makes us very flexible and allows you to adjust and compile your trip yourself. You can request your trip via our contact page of the website and / or by telephone. Depending on the locations to be visited and other wishes, we can make you a travel proposal. From the moment we make a proposal to you, the booking will have the status “requested”. The status “requested” is not yet a definitive booking. We will send a travel proposal by e-mail, including program and pricing.
Final booking
If you agree with our proposal, you confirm the proposal by e-mail or by telephone. You will then receive a reservation order via e-mail. As soon as you agree with this reservation order, we will record the accommodations, car and driver. The booking cannot be changed or canceled during this registration. When the trip is agreed, the booking is final.
Bookings by minors
It is not permitted for minors to make a booking. If a minor wants to make a booking, he must prove that his parent (s) or guardian (s) have granted permission for this.
Bookings under false pretenses
It is forbidden to make a booking under a false name, age or (e-mail) address. We are entitled to cancel the travel agreement with bookings made in violation of the provisions of this article. The travel sum already paid will be reimbursed after deduction of costs incurred.
Joint and several liability
The person who books the trip is always jointly and severally liable for all agreements made by him / her, also for other participants. If a minor traveler signs up, a written permission from the parent (s) / guardian must be sent to us.
Buy remotely
We would like to point out that bookings made by telephone and the resulting travel agreement (s) are final. A so-called “cooling-off period” of 7 days as stated in the Civil Code does not apply to bookings or travel agreements. The components of the individual tour, such as car / minibus, driver, hotels, etc., are immediately recorded after booking and cancellation costs apply immediately.
Preferences
Wishes (preferences) made known when booking are passed on to our local agent or supplier. Under no circumstances can we confirm such a preference to you, nor can we guarantee that your preference will be honored by the supplier.
Essences
If a wish is so essential that the travel agreement is only concluded if a guarantee is given that your wish is met, then you must request an essence. There are costs involved. You may have to pay a surcharge for preferences and / or medical essentials at your destination. This is the case if there are additional costs associated with the preference or medical essence, such as a special diet. If we cannot guarantee that an essence will be executed, we reserve the right to refuse it.
Disabled persons
If you depend on a wheelchair, walker or other essential device, then you are responsible for determining whether the trip is suitable for you. We cannot estimate your physical limitations and their consequences for your travel experience. We can, however, ask our suppliers for help to make the journey as pleasant as possible for you. You must then tell us very concretely what the requirements are that you set for all parts of the journey. The more concrete, the better. We treat your booking as an essence.
Number of persons
Each booking is limited to the number of participants stated in the travel agreement. Exceeding this number, regardless of the travel component, is not permitted. Occupying the accommodation with more people is not permitted and may result in a breach of the travel agreement or additional costs, whereby the right to compensation is not possible.
Travel time
The travel time is stated in whole days, whereby the days of arrival and departure are counted, regardless of the arrival and departure times. In some cases this can lead to the fact that the actual stay at the destination has fewer days than stated in the travel offer.
Reservation costs
Our regular reservation costs amount to € 25 per booking (once for multiple reservations), which are not refunded in the event of a change and / or cancellation.
STO Garant Guarantee Scheme
In order to meet its statutory obligation to provide a guarantee, Linders Tours makes use of the guarantee scheme provided by STO Garant. You can check that this is the case by visiting STO Garant’s website and verifying that the organisation is listed as a participant (www.sto-garant.nl/en/members). You can find all information relating to STO Garant at http://www.sto-garant.nl/en.
Whether STO Garant’s guarantee applies to a particular (travel) offer made by Linders Tours is clearly stated for that offer. The Guarantee Scheme specifies what the guarantee covers and which conditions apply. You can find the Guarantee Scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).
If STO Garant’s guarantee applies to your booking, you do not pay the booking sum to Linders Tours but instead into the escrow account belonging to Stichting Derdengelden Certo Escrow, a payment services provider registered with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). This trust account holds your payment in reserve until the trip booked has come to an end. If services are not supplied (in full and/or on time) due to the financial insolvency of Linders Tours, STO Garant implements the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases.
Payment procedure
As a customer / traveler you do not pay the amount to Linders Tours, but you pay it to STO-Garant.
You will receive an invoice with the necessary information about making the payment for your booking at Linders Tours.

Deposit
Upon the conclusion of the agreement, a deposit of 20% of the total agreed travel sum must be paid. If the agreement is concluded within 42 calendar days (6 weeks) before the day of arrival, the entire travel sum must be paid immediately.
Payment of the remaining amount
The remainder of the travel sum must be received by STO-Garant no later than 42 calendar days (6 weeks) before the arrival date. You are in default if you do not pay on time.
Not paid on time
If you have not paid on time, you will receive a free payment reminder, in which you are given a period of five calendar days to still make the payment. If payment is still not made, the agreement will be deemed to have been canceled on the day of default. Linders Tours has the right to charge the cancellation costs due. In that case the cancellation costs, as formulated later in these travel conditions, apply and the monies already paid will be deducted from the cancellation fees.
Cancellations & Changes
Cancellation costs
If an agreement is canceled, we will charge the traveler the following cancellation costs in addition to any reservation costs due:
• if canceled up to the 42nd day (exclusive) before the day of arrival: the deposit but no more than 35% of the travel sum;
• cancellation from the 42nd day (inclusive) up to the 28th day (exclusive) before the day of arrival: 35% of the travel sum;
• cancellation from the 28th day (inclusive) up to the 14th day (exclusive) before the day of arrival: 50% of the travel sum;
• cancellation from the 14th day (inclusive) up to the 7th day (exclusive) before the day of arrival: 75% of the travel sum;
• cancellation from the 7th day (inclusive) up to the day of arrival: 90% of the travel sum;
• cancellation on the day of arrival or later: the full travel sum
Partial cancellation
1. When a traveler from a travel group cancels his share in an agreement for a joint stay in a hotel, apartment, holiday home or other accommodation, he / she must pay cancellation costs.
2. The travel sum will be changed for the remaining traveler (s). For the payment of the changed travel sum, the normal payment rules will apply, as described earlier.
3. If the change offer is not possible or is not accepted, the agreement will be canceled for all travelers and all travelers will be charged cancellation costs.
4. The total amount of cancellation money and changed travel sum will never exceed the total travel sum of the original travelers. Any surplus is deducted from the new travel sum.
Cancellation by Linders Tours
Linders Tours has the right to cancel the travel agreement due to serious circumstances. Weighing circumstances are understood to be circumstances that are of such a nature that Linders Tours cannot be reasonably required to remain bound by the travel agreement.
Changes by the traveler
After the agreement has been concluded, the traveler can request a change thereof. The condition for this is that you pay the changed travel sum, which applies after a change, after deduction of the monies already paid. In addition, change costs of € 25 apply, which are not reimbursed in the event of a change and / or cancellation. In the event that the change costs, which the supplier passes on to us for segments, are higher than the above costs, the change costs are increased by these additional costs. The request will be decided as soon as possible. These changes will be made as far as possible up to 28 calendar days before arrival and will be confirmed in writing by us. If a change is not possible, the original agreement will be maintained, unless you indicate that you wish to cancel. The cancellation provisions as described under “cancellation costs” then apply. We reserve the right not to process changes within 28 days prior to arrival or to refer to the cancellation fee.Changing the arrival date or reducing the number of paying passengers is considered a (partial) cancellation. In that case no change costs are due.
Change by Linders Tours
There is always the possibility that one or more changes are made at a fairly late stage in advance or even during the trip for technical and / or organizational reasons.
Substitution
In good time before the trip commences, the traveler can be replaced by another person, provided that the other person meets all the conditions attached to the travel agreement and the request is submitted no later than 7 days before arrival, and the conditions of the service providers involved in the implementation are not met. oppose this substitution. The applicant, the traveler and the person who replaces him are jointly and severally liable vis-à-vis Linders Tours for the payment of the part of the travel sum still due, the modification and communication costs of € 25 and any additional costs resulting from the replacement.
Border documents
Passport
You are responsible for a valid passport and the required border documents. For Sri Lanka your passport must be valid for another six months when you return home. We bear no liability for the lack of the required travel documents before or during your trip and any consequences that may arise from this.
Children
As of June 26, 2012, all accompanying children, regardless of age, must have a valid passport. If a child under the age of 18 goes on a journey that has a different surname than the parent with whom it is traveling, it is necessary that the child has a signed declaration (in English) stating that the lagging parent (who has this surname) bears or authorizes the trip. A copy of the passport of the parent left behind must accompany this statement. The same declaration is also required if both parents do not travel with a minor child under the age of 18.
Visa
For travel between 01.08.2019 and 31.01.2020 there is no visa requirement for travelers with Dutch nationality. If a visa is required, it is best to apply for this directly yourself via this website: https://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/. You are responsible for obtaining a visa on time. We are not liable for any costs that arise when you are not in possession of a correct visa.
Travel documents
After booking and payment of your trip, you will receive your travel documents by post about ten days before departure, consisting of the vouchers for the driver and possibly for the hotels.
